What Is CrossFit?

CrossFit is a constantly varied strength and conditioning program that delivers proven results for committed individuals with the goal not being to specialize in any particular area but rather to excel at everything.

By modifying certain aspects of the workout to meet the needs of each individual athlete, we offer a fitness program that is accessible to  anyone and everyone regardless of their age and skill level. As a result, men and women are able to work alongside one another in a supportive group setting.

Using this approach, athletes at CrossFit 386 are taught to display competence in each of the following ten recognized fitness domains: cardiovascular and respiratory endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, agility, balance, and accuracy.

A typical class consists of the following elements:

  • Group warm-up (stretching, agility, mental preparedness)
  • Strength movement
  • WOD (workout of the day)
  • Metabolic conditioning
  • Mobility (targeting specific muscle groups and individual needs to reduce injury and promote recovery)

Focusing on gymnastics, strength, conditioning and mobility enables our athletes to not only become more physically fit but also better prepared for everyday life. As such, we strongly encourage members to learn and play new sports regularly in addition to attending classes.

Our coaches are there for you! To encourage, motivate, educate and just get you fired up when you start to slow down. Using a highly individualized approach to coaching, we treat each athlete differently and help them reach their full potential.

At CrossFit 386 our primary goal is to enhance each athlete’s competency at a wide variety of physical tasks; however, it is the strong sense of community that brings our program to life. Partner and team workouts create a friendly sense of competition that helps members establish relationships with one another in the gym. These relationships are then further strengthened by regularly  scheduled group outings and community outreach.

Our team of specialized coaches will be there to guide you every step of the way in understanding the importance of functional movements, developing strength and creating a successful nutrition plan that supports a healthy lifestyle.
